Welcome to the Kilkenny Design Centre online help facility. We hope you enjoy exploring our wide selection of products created by craftspeople from all over Ireland. There's a lot to see, so take your time.

We want to make things as easy as possible for you, so if you feel that our help file is not helpful enough, please let us know.

How to Shop
Shopping with us online is similar to visiting our shop. You can browse what's on offer, examine products you're interested in, and put them in your shopping basket if you like them. Just because you put something in your basket doesn't mean that you have to buy it. You can add and remove items from your basket as often as you please. When you complete an order for a product, we will arrange to have it shipped to your desired address. You can chose from a variety of shipping options. We don't expect you to buy something unless you know exactly what you're paying for. We do the calculations for you and you see the precise total before consenting to the order. Don't worry about buying something by accident. You will have a number of opportunities to change or cancel your order. You will see a final summary of your order before deciding whether to submit it.

Finding Information & Products
There are a number of different ways to find products on our site. The best way to find products depends on whether you are:

• (a) Just browsing
• (b) Looking for something specific

Just Browsing
The two main areas where you'll find products are Crafts and Craftspeople. These sections are options in the main menu bar. This is the main menu bar of the site:

Crafts
When you click on Crafts, you can chose from a variety of craft forms. Click on whatever craft you are interested in.

For, example, click the Ceramics button. This brings you to the Ceramics page. To see the full range of ceramics on offer, click the View Full Collection button which appears at the bottom of the page. This brings you to the Product Listing page for Ceramics. You will see all of the ceramics we stock.

Craftspeople
Quality products created by many highly skilled artists are available on our site. Clicking on the Craftspeople button brings you to the craftspeople page. Choose the craft area you are interested in and you will be shown a list of the craftspeople working in the area.

For example, if you click the Jewellery button on the craftspeople page, you can scroll down and see a list that includes Declan Killen and Alan Ardiff jewellery. To learn more, click on a craftsperson. Then, press the View Full Collection button. This will bring you to the Product Listing page for your chosen craftsperson.

Looking for Something Specific
If you're looking for something in particular, use our special search engine. It is accessed by clicking the Search button which appears in the right-hand section of your screen.

You have two search options:

To search our entire site, type in what you're looking for in the Search Web Site section. Then, click the Start Site Search button.

To move quickly to a particular type of product, use the Browse the Product Catalogue button. Make your selection from the Craft Types and Product Types drop-down menus. For example, select Jewellery under Craft Types and Rings under Product types and hit the Start Product Search button. This will bring you to a Product Listing page where you will see the rings we offer.

Product information
is displayed in the Product Listing sections of the site. (See Finding Products to find out how to get to a Product Listing section)

• Name of the piece
• Brief description
• Price
• Photograph or drawing

To get more information about a piece, do either of the following:

1. Click on the photograph/drawing, or

2. Click the View More Details button
   

Quick navigation feature

You can tailor your search using any one of all of the following criteria:

• Craft
• Type
• Range
• Artist

Use the drop-down menus to make your selection. Drop-down menus are indicated by this button When you click on the button, a menu of options appears. Scroll up and down the menu by using the arrows to the right and click on an item to select it.

When you have made your selection, click the Search button that appears underneath. You will then be shown the products you are looking for.

How to Order
When you have found a product that you're considering buying, click on the Add to Basket button. The Add to Basket button appears under the description and price of the product. (See Product Information to learn how to find information about a product)

Clicking on the Add to Basket button will bring you to your shopping basket. You'll see the following information:

• Title of each product in the basket
• Quantity ordered
• Weight of each product
• Cost of each piece
• VAT that will be charged (non EU residents do not pay VAT)
• Net price of each piece

You can take items out of your basket by clicking the Remove from Basket button.

At the bottom of the basket page, you will see a summary of the entire transaction. So, if you have more than one product in your basket, the total cost of your purchase (including VAT if you are an EU resident) will be displayed here.

How to Pay
When you have finished browsing and have added your desired products to your basket, you can begin the payment process. To start the payment process, click on the Enter Payment Details button, which appears at the bottom of your basket screen.

You will be asked to enter your billing, contact and shipping details. You must fill in sections that are marked with an asterisk. When you have entered all the information, click the Submit Details button. You will be brought to a screen that shows a summary of the contents of your basket. It is here that you much choose a Shipping Option. (See Shipping to learn about your options).

When you have selected a shipping option, you will arrive at the Order Payment screen. You will see a summary of all the payment details you have entered. You can make changes to your details.

At the bottom of the Order Payment screen you must enter your Credit Card details. (See Payment Policy for information on our payment policy). When finished, click the Submit Credit Card Information button. This brings you to the Final Order Confirmation screen.

The Final Order Confirmation screen summarises all the details of your purchase. If you are happy with all of the details and want to complete the transaction, click the Enter Payment Details button. (Note you can still make changes or cancel your order at this point).

By clicking on the Enter Payment Details button, you are brought to the Order Number screen. This is where your order is confirmed and an order number is issued. Your transaction is completed at this point. Please make a note of your order number.

Currency Converter
Prices are listed in euro unless otherwise stated.

For your convenience, we have created a way for you to view product prices in any of the following currencies:

• US Dollars
• Pounds Sterling
• Australian Dollars

To activate the currency of your choice, go to your basket and pick your currency from the drop-down menu to the right of the screen. Here is what the currency converter looks like:

When you have selected your currency, click the Change Currency button. The total price of each product will be displayed in your chosen currency from that point onwards. You might want to activate this feature as soon as you start browsing.

Please note that our currency values are approximate and may differ from the amount your credit card company will charge.

General Shop Information

• Items stocked are subject to availability
• Item sizes and measurements are approximate
• Shipping insurance is mandatory for all orders. The insurance cost depends on the cost of the item(s) shipped
• Kilkenny Design Centre always endeavors to provide the best forms of shipping available. Due to this KDC reserves the right to change shipping prices. As a result, rates and policies may change without notice.
  

Tax Issues
European Union residents: Must pay Value Added Tax (VAT) at the rate of 21%.

Non-European Union residents: Do not pay VAT

Books and Children's clothing are exempt from VAT

Shop Security
All online transactions are handled with the highest industry-standard SSL encryption. This encryption system is used by most online stores and is extremely safe for the proposes of submitting credit card details online. When you enter your transaction details, SSL will secure your browser. This will allow information that you send to be read only by Kilkenny Design Centre. It will require your browser to accept SSL, which most browsers do. If you are unsure, please consult your browser help information.

Payment Policy
Kilkenny Design Centre accepts most major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Access and Diners club. If you're unclear as to whether we accept your credit card, please send us an e-mail giving your card name and we'll happily let you know our policy on that card.

You credit card is charged in euro. Your credit card company will convert the amount from euro to the currency in which you are billed. As a result, the amount shown using our currency converter may differ slightly from what is charged by your credit card company.

I would like to find out more about a certain artist. How do I go about doing that?
Most artists listed have their own page, which gives an overview of their background and what they bring to their art. You can view an artist page under Craftspeople on the main menu bar. If you require any further information, please feel free to contact us.

Return Policy
Kilkenny Design Centre will exchange or credit any item that our customers are not happy with. All we ask is that you e-mail, fax or phone us within 7 days of receiving your items. We will need an outline of your problem and your order number.

We ask that any item returned be sent back in its original wrappings with all labels attached.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Earrings cannot be returned due to hygiene issues.

Shipping
Kilkenny Design Centre is always working hard to improve the level of quality and the cost of shipping. As a result, rates and policies may change without notice.

Shipping at Kilkenny Design Centre is based on weight and destination. By entering your shipping address in our secure payment area, this amount will be calculated automatically for you. We have, however, provided you with a guide to the various shipping services that we offer.

Shipping is categorised in zones to allow you to calculate shipping time and prices more easily. Ireland and North Ireland are not included in these zones and are explained below.

Types of shipping
We provide a number of shipping options. The shipping options below are shown with their shipping rates to give you an idea of how much you'll spend. These rates are shown without insurance, which is mandatory for all shipping at Kilkenny Design Centre.

Next Day - Ireland Only
Next day offers 24-hour parcel delivery to every business and household address in Ireland (excluding Northern Ireland).

Next day Special - Ireland and Northern Ireland
Next day Special provides next day delivery to every address in Ireland, every working day, with value-added extras such as Internet tracking, recipient signature, proof of delivery and insurance cover.
